Water polo

 

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

 

Water Polo for Years 5 & 6  Term 2 2026

 

Registrations are now open and will close on Monday, 30 Marchl

 

Boulcott School is looking to enter team/s into the 2026 Primary  School Water Polo League run by Hutt Water Polo. It is open to all Year 5 & 6 students. The team consists of a maximum of 10 players per team (1 goalie, 5 field players and 4 subs on the side.). 

 

All games will be held on Wednesday afternoons between 4 – 6pm at Te Ngaengae Pool from Term 2 Wednesday, 22 April.. Game times will vary between 4pm – 6pm each week. Games are 10 min halves with a 2 minute half time break. 

Note: The Pool depth at Te Ngaengae Pool is between 1.1 and 1.2m. Your child will need to have a reasonable level of competency in the water and be able to swim in water above their head. Goggles are not required in the water, but long hair needs to be tied up. A swimming cap is useful. Please wear togs as bikinis are not suitable and nails need to be short. Board shorts or speedos are fine for the boys. 

 

By registering your child/ren you are committing to be available every Wednesday unless your child is sick and parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from the games or organising with other adults in the team.

 

For each team we will need a coach and/or manager. Coaches will be responsible for rolling substitutes, teaching skills, and coaching. Managers will be responsible for notifying the team of game times and ensuring you have enough players.  We also require an adult scorer (sits at the scoring table and scores the game). If you are willing to take on any of these roles, please indicate on the google form below.

 

Cost and payments

The cost for water polo will be determined once we have final numbers for the team. This will be invoiced by the school and will be required to be paid prior to the first round of games. This can be paid by sending money to the office in a named envelope or via online banking 12-3142-0062729-00 – reference your child’s surname and water polo. We ask that payments are paid before Monday, 22 April. If you have any questions regarding payments please contact the office directly at  info@boulcott.school.nz 

Note: Pool entry is included as part of this cost.
